From Philips intend to re-offer the possibility to load a smartphone wirelessly using induction charging technology and Qi.
Philips is the DLP7210B, a base that can recharge the battery of an iPhone 4/4S in 3 hours. The fact of not having cable is because the process occurs through induction, which is nothing but the passage of energy from one component to another issuer loaded with just about. This is all thanks to technology included Qi (approved by the Wireless Power Consortium) that provides a charging power of 5W, so the number of hours to recharge a device.
Unfortunately, because the iPhone is not a technology compatible terminal complement Qi needs to receive the power output, the sleeve is formed by the base and is necessary to recharge the team. Perhaps this is one disadvantage to have to use a mediator to achieve the process but ultimately it is a solution to eliminate cables. This load model seems less attractive to manufacturers and can not believe why, Energizer has been among the few that have posted some time ago released a similar device with the possibility of charging by induction.
In terms of design, the truth is not to detract from Philips, I managed quite well with the color, while maintaining the stand-type approach to be fully stretched out the iPhone. For now we start with the Apple phone and although we were not given details of other models if you will, hopefully it happens. Availability is scheduled for March 99 euros as suggested price.
