Sharp Aquos Zero, curved OLED panel
Sharp Aquos Zero: a light flagship with own curved OLED panel, water resistance and Android 9 Pie
The Japanese manufacturer Sharp is a company that produces its own panels, however until today it did not have a mobile with OLED screens. This has changed with the launch of the new Sharp Aquos Zero, its new flagship and the model that launches OLED technology in the brand.

The screen is always one of the essential components in any mobile, but in the case of the Sharp Aquos Zero it becomes even more important. We have for the first time in the brand an OLED panel, which has been designed by them. They are 6.22 inches with a WQHD resolution of 2292 x 1440 pixels. For the format we have a notch on the top where the eight-megapixel front camera will be located and has a slight curvature on the sides.

The panel supports 100% of the DCI-P3 space and is compatible with Dolby Vision, an HDR format that is considered among the most faithful to the representation sought by the directors.

Inside we find the powerful Snapdragon 845, a very common processor in all the flagships of this year. They are accompanied by 6GB of RAM, 128GB of UFS storage and a 3,130 mAh battery where we have parallel charge and heat dissipation.

But it is not the internal features that stand out the most in Sharp Aquos Zero. In addition to its own manufacturing OLED panel, we have an IP68 waterproof body and manufactured with a magnesium fiber similar to Kevlar. In total a weight of only 146 grams, a figure below the majority of high-end devices this year.

For the photographic section we have a unique rear camera of 22.6 megapixels and an aperture lens f / 1.9. In a market where even the triple camera is settling, Sharp bets on the single lens.

In the field of sound, they collaborate with Dolby to achieve Dolby Atmos certification on their stereo front speakers. The fingerprint reader is in the back, we have face unlocking and comes with Android 9 Pie directly, the latest software version that from now on we should demand in all the phones just presented.

Sharp Aquos Zero will be available in Japan later this year. At the moment there are no announced prices or colors beyond the dark gray. A mobile that shows how the state of innovation is in the Japanese country and that can be a good example of what other manufacturers will be able to offer, when Sharp's OLED panels expand to the rest of the markets.
